Yes, Georgina Beyer is Maori [part, like all of them]. pbs.org

There aren't any traditional warrior Maoris. Maoris are all just people now, living in NZ, generally in the lower socio-economic sector, but with no upper bound. There has been a Maori Governor General for example. Winston Peters has been senior in government. If anything, they have an advantage in being pushed to the fore.

There's an old Kiwi joke that there are two kinds of people in NZ; Maoris, and those who want to be.

Wi Huata's "sister" previously his brother, is another example of Maori homosexuality/trans-sexual. Donna Awatere Huata, Wi's wife, was a senior part of act.org.nz which I support. She is now gaoled, as will be her husband, for stealing Pipi Foundation money for a stomach stapling operation, among other personal expenses. home.nzcity.co.nz

I had lunch with Donna a couple of years ago and was puzzled the way she was pushing food around her plate and the fact that she had lost such a huge amount of fat. At the time, it wasn't known that she had had a stomach stapling operation. I guess she has a problem of greed. It's a common problem, with such people often confusing themselves with their official positions [and the money that goes with them].

I think most people in NZ are fairly tolerant of homosexuals these days and that includes Maoris.
