Maybe I'm shallow, but luxuries make me very happy. I love my fine clothing, fine dining, great music teachers for my kids- being able to buy them expensive musical instruments on a whim- so while I have been happy with a lot less, I have to say that more is better :-) Maybe when you get to the level where people want to kidnap you for your money you have a problem, but being able to buy what you want, when you want it, seems to me to add a lot to life.

I always enjoy reading happiness studies- but I find my own happiness doesn't always correlate to what the studies find- but then I'm a unique individual, and studies are about averages.
