As you know, I got your PM. I've just completed reading this thread, which was dead last I checked. I enjoyed it a bunch. Glad I started it! It had a purpose, and you and the other regular posters here have served it pretty damn well. As so often is the case, IMHO, American Spirit has posted quite a few off-topic statements of a venemos and unrealistically all-encompassing nature (he regularly wholly ignores what's been written in posts of mine to which he responds, over on that disgustingly illogical Kerry thread which I seemingly almost certainly spend way too much time with (but I have my reasons)). As I noted to you via PM, I truly value free speech, yet I know that those who shout fire in a crowded theatre can spoil the show for others. I know that in this case, you guys have largely not responded to American Spirit's posts, a fact which serves to return to him exactly the quantity of substance he's offered, IMHO, and probably makes posting here no fun for him to boot. Part of me feels that nothing should be done to prevent his intrusions, as I do feel his presence simply illustrates for posterity why one wouldn't want to be like him. Perhaps he should be allowed to pester around the edges as he has (but he is terribly off-topic, IMHO. Oh my, decisions decisions). However, I see that SI Dave has apparantly taken it upon himself to ban AmSpurt and GargleEGoop (oh god, if I don't say so myself, I do LIKE this perversion of the name) on his own, without even asking ME! Harumph! THAT surprises indeed! I suppose he's made an educated guess that I wouldn't complain of his taking this action. I'd say he ought to well KNOW that I willingly speak with American Spirit all the time, and so it should have taken some guts for him to do this! Heck, I actually got into this site a tad late in the '90's, and had to contribute $75.00 for my lifetime membership. Where's my respect????(I love you, Rodney D.) Now I am sure, that a complaint from me could get these two individuals reinstated for posting here. SI Dave, if you are reading this, DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH! Good move Dave. As I said, this thread does have a purpose, and I can see who serves it, and who I believe blathers too loudly in this theater. And ChinuSFU, as the owner of the Kerry thread I have often been posting to, if you come across this, and wish to belabor a decision which I understand you likely wouldn't allow SI Dave to make for you on your thread(s), please discuss it elsewhere (PM me, perhaps, if you don't feel I've made my case well enough ...I don't know what more I can say, really). For the rest of you here, maybe you'll garner something of my thinking from the following: Ted Kennedy blows my mind, as does American Spirit and others on the Kerry thread. Ted Kennedy however, is much more deserving of a thread devoted to him (a thread with a purpose plain, if only implied in the header). When Neocon vowed to return here, I knew well that he'd offer up exactly what I was looking for when I created it. You regular posters here have kept his spirit alive, and you serve me, the thread master, well. VBG!!!! Thanks, Dan B.
