Ok. I was objecting to the notion that they might be pegged at one extreme. That would be easier to handle than having them show up spread anywhere. It is astonishing how often engineers will sample a signal without first bandwidth limiting it to be within the Nyquist rate of their ADC. And then firmly believe the results!

IMO, people in the "soft sciences" even though they are all taught statistics, most have very little understanding of Nyquist's sampling theorem, which might well be something they should pay attention too in a given situation.
