"Nonsense" is more like it! What we needed was the young Kerry who was bold enough to face criticism and speak against the unjustified and tragic Vietnam war. Instead we got the dithering, shilly-shallying, wishy-washy Kerry.

The problem was the rightwing smear campaign against not only Kerry but all liberals and moderates accusing them all of being traitors for not 100% supporting Bush's Iraq War plan.

In fact, now we know anyone who opposed Bush was right, and Bush was dead wrong. Kerry definitely opposed the way Bush went to war on every level. He was, however, for disarming Saddam, but was willing to wait a few years to do it if it meant avoiding having to occupy that country alone. For the troops' sake. Kerry cares mostly about the safety of the troops. After all he's been in combat, unlike any major rightwing leader.
