Once Bush started the war, based on lies and poor planning, taking the position that we should pull out was and still is a risky one. We have certain milestones in Iraq which are probably best to try and get past to see where we are next. At least that's the centrist view. I am pessimistic and think we should start pulling out now, but not all at once, more quietly and strategically. However, I am also a monday morning quarterback.

The main problem with Iraq was Bush's decision to begin with. Once we have 140,000 trops there you can't just flick a switch and make it go away.

To begin, the correct stance on Iraq was not yes or no, it was "only if it's done right, meanwhile build coalitions, inspect and try diplomacy, and no big hurry". That was Kerry's stance. I don't know about Hillary. Bush was the one who blew it.
