Some denominations don't believe in infant baptism.

i assume she was baptized by her parents in Catholic faith. Why would it be necessary to be baptized again?

Probably wanted what is known as "total immersion" rather than "sprinkling".

After all, according to the Baptists, Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist in the "total immersion" manner and thus established the practice viewed by many as the only "true" manner of being baptized.
