KK - thanks for posting that series. Some of the best arguments being made for the need to shine a light on fraudsters and inefficiency that feeds it in our system of "clearing" transactions. Bob O'Brien and Byrne CEO of overstock.com have been attacked personally by the crowd that defends hedgies, naked shorting and MM scamming. Those people ironically are the first to drape the 1st amendment around their causes, the first to support internet anonymity, the first to oppose litigation against internet posters. Yet, they, including some that post on SI, do not focus on these very important issues, issues which go to the very core of our free, open and efficient markets. They prefer to attack the proponents of reform and equal access to information.
