I have a solution that would be easy,but it makes to much sense.
America is busy building many bases in Iraq.This will be an ongoing irritant to the Iraqis.
So,remove all bases and soldiers from Iraq.Place bases in all of the countries surrounding Iraq to monitor the situation there.This will satisfy most of the Iraqis who want the American soldiers out of Iraq and the American populace who want the American soldiers out of harms way.
Simple stuff.<g>

I agree with you about the point on prolonging the war just for the bragging points of "not on our watch" kind of claims. Heck, after the next admin pulls out, the Bushies can go on forever claiming that the insurgents had been in their last throws and if only the "right" leadership had been in place ME would have been very different and the war would have been won.
