My point is that the "my God is better than your God" thing causes much misery in the world.

The Christian record on this isn't that good. For instance the Muslims haven’t declared war on the US. A
few crackpots have.

What has been the response of Bush? He has declared war on the Muslims. Don't tell me he isn't trying to change their culture and hasn't killed massive numbers of innocent civilian Muslims.
