A State judge can be impeached according to the laws of the state. A County Persecutor can generally be impeached and / or subject to a recall election (of their constituents). Many states make their judges stand for election or at least referendum every so often.

Standards for impeachment are generally fairly high. I assume since the partisan Earle is still in office that his county is a partisan Democrat county.
