America can piss off the world, but you better not mess with Israel. I agree. But why wouldn't Israel want US bases? As in Europe post WWII, they are a trip-wire. If you attack Israel, you automatically attack the US. US troops could supplement Israeli forces in protecting the border. US bases/personnel would be a boost for the Israeli economy. From a security and economic perspective it's all win-win for the Israelis. There may be something I'm not thinking of, but all I'm left with is the US military isn't Jewish and they don't want any non-chosen people in their country. jttmab
