Sun Tzu..

That wasn't the point. Believe me, I'm not particularly a fan of Israeli politicians and how they manipulate US opinion.

But I'm EVEN LESS of a fan of the Palestinian leadership (though Abbas may have some potential) and how they manipulate the rest of the world into believing that they somehow are worthy of a nation/state when they're leaders consist of kleptocrats and religious militants who don't believe in democratic principles.

For better or worse, Israel is, at least, a democracy.. A democracy with its extremists and its moderates.

And it's the only democracy in the middle east (unless one considers Turkey part of the ME).. And doubling the number of democracies in the region is what Iraq seems to be about at the moment.. Which seems to also be why all of its neighbors seem to be trying to maintain the instability in the country.

One further thing.. Israel was provoked in 1967 when Egypt essentially declared war by blockading the Straits of Tirat. That was the act that launched that war. Israel was just the first country to fire shots with its pre-emptive strike.

And who was the country occupying Gaza previously to Israel? Egypt.

And one final item.. Who's to blame for Israel currently occupying the West Bank? Which nation occupied that territory illegally in 1948 and annexed it into its own Kingdom? And King of this country country was WARNED by Israel to stay out of the conflict between them and Egypt??

And which King ignored this advice and decided to attack Israel??

Far as I'm concerned, Israel had every right to occupy the territory. They probably should have forced every Jordanian/Palestinian to leave for the east side of the Jordan river back in 1967. You attack me from your country, you forfeit the right to possess that territory...

Obviously, this is not longer politically, or demographically advantageous, and Jordan has renounced its claims to the WB.. And we're left with this...
