Don't be so simple-minded. There are a lot of better ways to skin a cat, a lot of better ways to achieve the Western goals of Democracy and Human Rights then 'punching the tar baby' (to use a southern idiom), or wasting decade upon decade in an 'endless war' against an irregular enemy. What'sa matter? U never heard of "divide and conquer", nor "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"? Ot how about Sun Tsu: "the greatest victory is the battle avoided". THINK for a minute... you want to go out and try to kill a billion people? (What kind of a world would that leave us?), or ignite a new multi-generational War of the Crusades? The Shia/Sunni civil war is already firing up in Iraq (the Saudi Ambassador was just talking about it last week). Why be stupid and stand in the middle of the warring parties with a big fat target panted upon our backs? What does that get us? Events are already proceeding in our favor... all we need to do is get out of the way and let them happen.
