I have already said so in another post. But they also held slaves and voting was for landowners only. Thankfully we have become more enlightened in the last 200 years.

So what is your point? That they were sinners or had different rules. BTW the voting for landowners only was not a Federal rule, but state, in fact it may have only been during the confederacy.

NO, Thankfully the founding fathers who embraced a clear understanding of Christian morality put in place a system of government where under the consent of the governed, the ability to partiscipate in being governed was expanded as a self evident right. It was self evident under Christian morality and in particular the tolerance within the soul of Christian morality.
