"Then explain to me why Europe has higher unemployment than America."

Because their laws are heavily weighted towards large businesses at the expense of smaller businesses. In the US, smaller businesses tend to be the engine driving employment.

I never claimed otherwise. I claimed they have lower poverty rates than ours, because they take responsibility for their fellow citizens. In europe, being unemployed doesn't equate to being homeless, hungry or living without health insurance - the things poverty means here.

JCP, Most other developed, industrialized countries do.

Then explain to me why Europe has higher unemployment than America.

What point are you trying to make? If you're insinuating that most Europeans taken advantage of their unemployment benefits, you're nuts. Do you think you are the only person who believes its better to work than to take charity?

Is your world so insular that you've never known someone who was in trouble? You have such a narrow view.
