"embraced a "by any means necessary" strategy to bring down the Bush Admin & the Republican majorities in the Senate & House. It's a no holds barred gutter brawl. Ethics & common decency have been thrown out the window. ... What they can't see is the real harm they are doing to this country in the process." Actually everything tends to fluctuate. The pendulum continues swinging to the right. The direction of its movement is infuriating the left. The will not recover until they ditch the bomb throwers and try to reclaim some high moral ground. Right now they are attempting to hang their hat on a sudden metamorphosis against their longstanding reputation as spendthrifts. They still lack credibility. It appears to all that there is no adult supervision of the budget. I sure would not install a drunken sailor who claims to have seen the light but whom still argues for the sanctity of their own pork for adult supervision. 2006 will be a surprise to one party, or to both. Let us continue to be the side with ideas to solve the problems that beset the world and the country. People might not agree with everything, but they can recognize leadership.
