The reason to have a separation is to insure that no religion becomes the state religion which can lead to an abuse of power.

Correct. And we don't. But that does not change the fact that America was founded ON Christian principles, and that IS our tradition.

The constitution is quite clear about prohibiting laws establishing a state religion. This has been stipulated by all parties. But you are arguing that a display of the Ten Commandments or a Christmas tree or a wreath is proof that congress has established a state religion. That argument is rubbish.
