That's a good observation. Conservatives tend to put principle over politics.

I believe President Bush is doing one of two things. Either he is smartly setting his nomineee up for non-support by the right and ridicule by the left after which she will withdraw herself and he will nominate Janice Brown...OR he just made a stupid appointment knowing she would conduct herself appropriately as a Judge. I believe the appointment of Brown will be made after the left argues the nominee should have Judicial experience or have argued Constitutional law and the present nominee withdraws.
