I agree with your moderate take on the subject. I would hate it if this board were to turn into a promotional abyss. However, as you say, having some postings of trades with reasons for the action would be very helpful. I think most of us are frequenting this thread because of its subject and out of respect for the posters that assemble here. As to postmortems, I lost some of my nice profits on corn because I did not pay enough respect to seasonals. CoTs are important but seasonals should be given equal weight.
