Just because we have to use electricity to separate the hydrogen? Are you certain that no new technology will be found that can make that process work better?

Hydrogen is actually a very efficient propellant. The space program uses it for that reason.

Making it takes electricity. If what we need are nuclear plants to generate the electricity to produce hydrogen... we can make the next generation of nuclear plants far safer than the current generation. Let's get going.
