"So what do we do with the people who can't find a job after two years?"

You're talking about unemployment insurance? Eventually, you get cut off and lose it. That's not the same as welfare. The premiums for that are taken from your employer and your paycheck. Generally, you have to have worked for two years to even be eligible.

"Benefits can be paid for a maximum of 26 weeks in most States. "

After that, we're free here in America to sleep under bridges, in homeless shelters, dumpster dive for food and play the lottery with our health. Most working people play the lottery with their health, so that really doesn't change for them.

The community supports them until they can find a way to contribute, so that they don't become homeless and destitute.

Would you suggest we ignore them? Would that be punishment or teaching a lesson, or what?

We're talking pennies from each of us that are SO VERY MUCH more fortunate... what the hell is wrong with you guys? You want these families starving in the richest country in the world? While we drive our BMW's and go out for $100 dinners?
