Taro, That sounds like utter BS to me.

I think it's true. You will notice that in other European languages, Korea starts with a 'C', as in "Corée" in French.

Good point. How could Korea be spelled with a "C" when they don't use the alphabet? It's like claiming Russia was spelled with one "S" 100 years ago, when the Russian's didn't even use the alphabet!
