Sir Bum,

As usual, I appreciate very much your technical comments. You bring knowledge and skill to this board.

On the topic of stocks that cut through their 50-day MA but closed above it and had gap downs, what do you make of those that did not gap down and did not even test the 50-day MA? For example, TS shows this pattern:

stockcharts.com[w,a]daclyiay[db][pb20!b50!f][vc60][iLc!La12,26,9]&pref=G

Is the 20-day MA now resistance?

Is TS a buy if it breaks above the 20-day MA? By how much ... 10 cents?

Would love to hear your comments on the chart.

Thanks - fp

Dabum, I'm enjoying this bounce and planning to hold at least till Monday. What technical signs should I watch for to get out of UPL, CHK, COP, PTEN, DVN etc? I generally like to hold for over a week and often months, but based on your comments, these purchases may be for only 2 or 3 days. Based on your previous suggestions, I am guessing one should set stops to maintain profits and move them up if the stocks continue rising.
TIA - Cy

What is the chance for CHK to close that gap down? Isn't it logical to first to close that gap before going down more? While I know the stock does not usually behave logically<g>
