Complacency and acceptance is the thing that holds us back.

Nonsense, efficiency is the thing that drives the US forward. That generally includes acceptance of the way things are done in the status quo. Most of the "revolutions" in the US in the past 100 years come from things that make society more efficient. Complaining and whining is a friction that reduces efficiency.

Remember we are a product of a revolution.

A revolution which gave freedom from authoritarian rule, something you find so abhorrent in Iraq. Revolution doesn't seem to have done diddly dee for Iran, other than turn them into a pariah state.

Change for its own sake isn't good, it's the result following the change that eventually determines whether the change was a positive move or not.

Regardless, whining without advocating anything remains at the lower end of the barrel in terms of what improves societies.
