And then we had all those brethren who called Louis Armstrong an "Uncle Tom" because he was a talented artist and genius, worked hard and earned big bucks.

OK, that was a few years ago but still...

Actually I think we've come a long way in a long (not short) period of time. Jim Bob needs to know he is socially unacceptable.

We've come a long way in a pretty short period of time. Like all things, it isn't a straight line, nor is it even across the country. But we are getting there as long as there isn't something that causes some major back sliding. Of course, by the time we get there fully socially, it may be that everybody is so interbred that finding distinct races would be a chore.

Just watched on the news a video clip where three cops beat the shit out of a short black man who was drunk in the French Quarter in NO. Its believed all three cops were white. Oh yeah, the black man was 64.........not a threat to the Quarter at all. After finishing up with the elderly black man, the cops went after the photographer who was videoing the incident. Similar incidents were reported in NO prior to the hurricane.

Ten years ago, I witnessed beatings against illegals in LA. Two years ago, it was reported that Seattle cops were more likely to stop blacks than whites....all other factors being equal.

I think there's been progress but the progress IMO is not all that great.
