I was glued to the TV as Nixon unravelled. I remember seeing a bunch of Senators coming out of a meeting, with one being VERY agitated. He started yelling at some of the other Senators, about contingency plans RE: "suspending the Bill of Rights" and "declaring martial law". His fellow Senators shoved him back into the meeting room, apparently to shut him up. I never heard anything about it after that. I think these things can be disruptive, but it's SO much better than just letting the rot and corruption continue, or a coup. Perhaps this Plame thing can be a vehicle for Bush's removal. If he loses a house of Congress in 2006, all sorts of investigations will erupt to blast the whitewash off the previous ones.

"I sincerely think the WH is imploding. This is not good, regardless of your party." I think you are right. Unfortunately, they gambled that 9/11 was the biggest thing they would face, and when they finessed it, then they had clear sailing. But things didn't work out as planned and their house of cards is folding.
