i said i was no ewave crackerjack :) but since you asked...

my guess is 2 of 3 was an irregular flat which possibly finished where you have your ii of 5 labeled at the end of last April...the shallow retracement of the 2003 rally also suggests an extended wave 3, plus internals strongly point in that direction imo,

the old bull ended in 1997.....the new bull began for most stocks as measured by the weekly ad line in march 2000.....yes indeedee....so to keep most off the train they took down some narrowly based indexes back to the lows they made in 1998 which was still above the highs of 1997.....the weekly ad line topped in oct 1997 and bottomed after 3 distinct waves in march of 2000.......home builders..financials...oil and oil sevice stocks ....precious metals stocks all took off from their march 2000 lows and never looked back......
