The "why?" is not firmly established I believe. One reason for that being that people when polled seldom tell their real reason here because they know they may be kind of primitive... But my feeling from being there and spending some time in beer joints with friends and others is, that it's a mix of their culture and religion being different as well as their reluctance to blend in and become Germans (= "Europeans") as opposed to other immigrants like Greeks and Italians just to mention a few. Then of course with the current unemployment above 10%, just like in the US the "little man" complains about the Turks stealing their lower paid jobs. Last but not least, in Germany, France and a few other European countries, people don't like changes. Status quo is what they want to maintain. Taro
