Women complained they had no rights. Once they got some rights, they worked and contributed to growing the GDP. Complaining creates change that makes things operate more efficiently. Amy, first of all, one example doesn't make a generalization, and second, in the above complaining didn't make things more efficient; rather, implementing a more efficient policy (equal rights for women) made things more efficient. Complaining doesn't do much of anything. Advocating desirable change is what's worthwhile. Anybody can critique a bad situation and say it sucks. It's the solution that is the hard part.
