will appoint a pro-inflationary crony to replace Greenspan?>

Absolutely, but it's still important to be cautious on Humpty Dumpty "all the King's horses" trades now, they are very crowded.

Gold COT October 4: specs are long 217,451, has to be near a record. Swiss Franc and Yen might be a better bet, it may get unwound as junk carrytrades blow up? Specs are SHORT 61,069 SF, and 72,567 yen.

Update from that article:

FCB custodial holdings:
June 15: 1.436
Oct. 5 1.467

That's only a $95 billion annualized pace, way down from the $300 billion plus of last year, and the current $172 billion yoy. With 1 CMT over 4.00% this will need to be updated.

SOMA:
June 15: 725.482
Oct. 5: 737.592

Mostly post-hurricanes:

August 24: 728.393
Oct. 5: 737.592

Twice the "average" pace of the last year, but well short of making up for the missing in action FCBs.
