"RU486:"

I am aware of how it works. Birth control pills generally have a number of effects. The main effect is to prevent ovulation, but that isn't always effective. So they also cause a constriction of the fallopian tubes to prevent the ovum from entering the uterus. Still, some slip through and the hormones also interfere with its ability to implant, like RU-486. IUDs cause the ovum to actually be disrupted.
