Islam is a totalitarian way of life that oppresses every Muslim subject to extreme codes of religious behavior with barbarian penalties for those who do not obey. Nobody within the Muslim world pretends to act any differently. This scholar backs up the notion that there can be no separation of Church and State. It is completely contradictory to every aspect of democracy which gives people human rights to enjoy freedom and liberty. The Sharia or code of conduct for Muslims encourages medieval acts of torture against women that don't wear their hajibs. Men are encouraged to beat their wives who do not wear their head bands. Female genital mutilation is practiced against most young woman to make them more agreeable to their future husbands. Loans are forbidden to get an eduction or buy a home. It's like the ancient days of Shylock.
