Once a child is born it's obviously a citizen, and killing that baby is murder or manslaughter or whatever. Prior to birth it's horrendous to have a very late stage abortion, but early in the pregnancy it's not only legal, but often necessary and the ethical dilemma is strictly a matter of opinion. Here are the facts: - Abortion is legal and most people want it that way - Abortion goes to the heart of a woman's rights and women should have thosed rights - Womens rights should not be decided by rightwing men - Unwanted pregnancies are often very serious problems for the woman - RU-486 makes unwanted pregnancies all but obsolete so in effect makes abortions completely unnecessary - Abstinence onily education actually creates more STD's unwanted pregnancies - We have a huge over-population problem in this world - If Bush let Roe be overturned, the GOP would lose millions of voters for a long time to come and gain none. Everything else is opinion, but I believe: - Nobody likes abortion but it should be legal at least until a certain late term period - A fertilized egg or pea-sized pregnancy is not a human being - RU-486 should be totally available as well as all birth control methods - Sex education should be mandatory for kids - Anyone who is against abortion rights should strongly back RU-486 or shut up. - Anyone who is against abortion rights should adopt at least one unwanted child or shut up.
