I saw leaving Vietnam as a tremendous victory of Americans over the forces Ike warned us about and called the "military-industrial complex". That "defeat" kept those boys from mounting any serious wars for 20 years. But they're still there, working behind the scenes constantly trying to start a fight somewhere. They need another "defeat". I wish we could figure a way to put them out of business entirely. They're the boys that have visions of America as the new Rome and want to push that agenda. That's not the America I want.
