Your glib analysis would fit were it not for the fact that Mr ElBaradei hasn't retired from business yet... The guy is not a former high official turned retiree or lecturer. He's still in the thick of it! Somehow, your analysis would be right to the point if Hans Blix had been awarded instead of ElBaradei. Yet the Nobel Committee chose the latter because they didn't want to pay homage to the past only, they also sought to pledge the awardee to the future --and increase ElBaradei's clout in the ongoing Iranian crisis....
