My Methodist minister relatives never try to dictate morality on others. That would be considered un-Christian like. Neither are they judgemental if people are different, if they like sex, are gay, smoke some pot, or even get an abortion.
We are down to earth and tolerant, but righteous. I'm not as righteous as they are, but I come from the same stock.

They know that life is hard and people do what they can and need to do. They know they don't have all the answers and anyone who says he knows the answers, or what is right vs. wrong, is a liar, especially if that man is hitting you up for money at the same time. Mostly they are what you would call moderate Republicans, though some of them liked Clinton, Carter and Kennedy.

The grand fraud of the religious right is pretending they have the answers, then demanding money. In fact, their so-called answers are proven wrong now. For instance their abstinence only policies have resulted in just the opposite effect it claimed they would, more STD's and more teen sex. Probably more teen suicides too.

ANyone who listens to the religious right after Terri Schiavo is an idiot anyway. That also showed us clearly what corrupt grandstanding liars they are. And I don't care if Mel Gibson or Jesse Jackson agreed with them.
