There have been all kids of offenses committed on SI (and every other stock site). Abuses include:

Front running - trading a stock and then touting your position. Some of the most peoplemarked members have been accused of this. If you have enough following you can tout a weakly traded stock after buying in, then sell some into the surge of buyers from your tout, making you profit and you still own some so you can mention later that you sold some on strength.

Touting a position - related to front running. It can be a short position.

Bias - simply not wanting to believe what does not agree with your opinions. Some members here have become offensive to people who post contradictory evidence or opinions.

Solicitation - This was an occasional problem early on. People would use SI to suggest a private placement or public offering in which they were involved. This appeared to be a violation of securities laws.
