Sour stock market mood heavily influenced by Delphi bankruptcy, further GM downgrades and even bankruptcy predictions.I think GM will be forced into some major financial "surgery"; will compel an accomodation with unions (under threat of massive layoffs) and find a way to wiggle out of their massive pension obligations.Somehow, they will survive. October is a notoriously bad time for stocks. Seasonally, Nov. and Dec should be much better.Earnings season should, on the whole, be satisfactory. As for Gold, agree that odds favor lower, not higher prices from here. Energy is a tough call, probably oil at 60 should hold.
