<Holy Roman Catholic Church and that institution plunged most of the world into dark ages> That may be... we'll never know for sure since we don't get to see what would have happend without the church. IMO the empire would have crumbled either way and saying Jesus was THE cause would be of {very} limited truth... bwtfdik. Either way either the climate of the times turned the church into an aweful institution, or an aweful institution helped make the dark ages more aweful... or somewhere in between or whatever... I have no idea. DAK
