Why did Saddam pay the families of suicide bombers 25k, doesn't sound like he was anti-terror, unless that is your definition. Do you mean if he was for terrorism he would have paid the families 50K?

These folks are not just clueless but they allow themselves to be darn stupid. Presidents before Bush, their intelligence agencies all felt that keeping Saddam in there was vital to US interests. Saddam was the counterbalance to any force in that area. Saddam was a secularist and not a Islamic fundamentalist.

And here comes Bush Cheney and the gang with their own ideas and they proceed to remove Saddam. Now they have a mess on their hands. Iran is on the rise and they are bolstered by the Shia majority in Iraq.
