There are in fact Americans who are for the opposition though.

No doubt. America has a large population. There are in fact Americans that believe they have been abducted by space aliens. There are Americans that believe the US found caches of WMD in Iraq after the war. And most amazing of all, there are Americans that actually believe there is a war on terrorism.
