Luck exists. Even Doyle Brunson, who has made tens of millions playing poker says he waits for the "poker rush" when he's playing. So, I believe poker is a game of skill, but also definitely believe in streaks and luck. In the short run, it's better to be lucky. In the long run, it's better to be skilled. And it's better yet to be skilled enough to play your luck correctly.

That being said, nobody should be able to win consistently at roulette and slots. But, there are people who do. Nobody wins the lottery. Except for somebody. <G>

Sporting Bet (SBT.L in London and Spbtf on the pinkoes in the USA) reported earnings up 400% year over year. Poker revenues were up 71% in the past 10 weeks. SBT.L not only runs Paradise Poker, one of the major online sites, but has casino games and sports betting operations. The average number of games played on Paradise over the past year rose 67%.

Online poker slowdown? Greatly exaggerated.

BTW, Paradise is now running a deal on sports betting where if you bet $25, Sportingbet will match you $25. I made a bet earlier this year when the Steelers played the Texans and were only favored by 6 points. Since then, I haven't had a vision of a sure thing in sports betting. And they won't let me bet on rasslin'. <G>
