While I agree with you that attorney often have a deleterious effect on many things.

Chief among them is that past court decisions deserve some respect and should be considered when making a decision. I hope Bush picks someone who shows complete disrespect to past decisions. I don't expect a trail lawyer or judge to do that.

And maybe not such a great 'administrator' either.

The record is that in 2000-2001, Locke Liddell paid out nearly $30.5 million to settle investor lawsuits while Harriet Miers was at the helm. The defrauded investors were successful in pressing a settlement after asserting that the law firm was complicit in defrauding.
