Note that the health care cost problems of the automakers largely reflect the lack of a single-payer health care system in the US. As a result they are saddled with health costs none of their overseas competitors face.

Kirk can't get rid of pension and OPEB liabilities and keep any equity value--there's no farking way the union will allow that.

A lot can happen in a bankruptcy which the Unions cannot control.

I think a BK is the basis of Kerkorian's thinking.
