A little history: Every time the "deficit" has been "paid down", the result has been recession, panic, or outright depression. Every time taxes on capital formation have been CUT, the result has been massive growth that no one was willing to predict (or recognize when it happened.) There is a term for politicians who make their careers on the public's mass ignorance. If "our children" were going to be "saddled with our debts", that insidious LIE would have come to fruition a century and a half ago...
