In less than 10 years that will be the case. The only reason you don't see it in the stats is because the government changed the rules and began categorizing hispanics as "white".

Speaking of DNA testing and all...there are more than a few regimes around that either explicitly or implicitly drive their identity from genetic myths. When the results are made public, they will have a hard time coping with the reality. For example, Morocco considers itself an "Arab" country. As anyone who has spent time in Arab countries and in Morocco can tell you, Moroccans are anything but Arab. Just the same, the government has imposed rules on what you may or may not name your children (it has to be an "Islamic" name that in the true Arab tradition means an Arabic name)...yet DNA testing in the form of Haplo Groups shows those who do not identify themselves as "Arab", the majority of Moroccans, have less than 3% Semitic DNA markers and those Moroccans who do identify themselves as "Arab" happen to have less than 10% of the DNA markers! Along the same lines, I read the other day that of the two DNA markers associated with being "European" (sorry I cannot remember the details) one of them was originated in Iran...I don't think it will sit very well with some people to realize their ancestry originates from Iran...LOL!
