If you dont mind, may I ask you during the period you held this short put, was there any time it was above water ? The reason is due to the long dated leap (2003) the time value would be rather high, I wonder if during the time if there were stretch that either the stock price went much higher than 30 or the time value deteriated enough that you could have closed the trade with some profit ? it seems long long dated options are rather hard to do even you are supposedly "receiving" premium instead of "paying" premium.
