XEC and some Good Nat Gas Links -- Message 21786031 ..................... I haven't posted here in awhile because I put my bet on energy last May. But I thought I'd post some XEC info for y'all. It's energy, but value... XEC is an NAT GAS energy value play, with a PE = $40/$5 = 8 PE yahoo's 2006 estimates are wrong: finance.yahoo.com this guy has EPS of $4.58 for 2005, and $5.34 for 2006. his projections are based on $10 MMBTU nat gas. mcdep.com here's a better link for gas prices: quotes.ino.com and here he ranks the energy stocks - XEC has a low ratio -- which is good (i.e. value) mcdep.com cheers, grommit PS -- actually this posting was when i made my move. actually it's 80% of (non-reit, non ACAS) portfolio. HELE: You guys were right to avoid HELE. I'm trimming my position - again. Here's an example where imo, a case could be made for a buy, given the current price, current & forward expected earnings, diverse product lines and brands, and low price/book and okay (imo) roe. Yet for me, I turn coward. Rather than consider adding, and wanting to protect gains, I'll instead take more off the table. Somebody else looking at it, it could very well be a value stock at current price (or not -g-). finance.yahoo.com
