"When I posted earlier, I was under the belief that AMD had been making money for most of the past 4 quarters."

If you back out flash, which is being spun off, AMD would have made decent money over the past few quarters.

Your figure of $0.18 a quarter would be on the low side. For one, they paid some bonuses that probably won't be going out in future quarters. Those bonuses accounted for $0.11 a share. If they hit their projection for Q4, they probably will make $0.50 next quarter, possibly even more. Intel is in a weak position until they can get their new architecture out, and that doesn't seem likely until H206, except for Yonah.

Barring a meltdown in the economy, AMD should do well for the next few quarters.

Ted, Clearly, AMD's stock price got way ahead of itself.......hence the pullback today.

One thing I'm wondering about is the dilution. I remember in 2001 or so that AMD had 300M shares outstanding. Now it's close to 400M. I wonder how much of that is due to options exercised, convertible notes, etc.
